PERSIMMON MINIATURE [male]
This is a sturdy block buster of a tree with good basic development. The original plant had two thick twin main branches and one has been hollowed out to open up the area and give it character and lightness. The darker area on the front of the tree is sunburn that has been incorporated into the deadwood design to add character to the tree. As the tree develops and the callousing grows this will become a major feature.
Persimmon trees are male or female; the male has flowers but does not hold the fruit, the female holds the fruit all winter. The plant is deciduous and is a late budder. The tree is healthy and robust. Major root work was done the first year and more root work needs to be done next year to remove the root curving across the front.
As well as this robust bloke, a small female needing several years inground development will be included with the sale.
I knew when I bought the tree that it was too big and I ignored the knowledge. It's too heavy for me and it still has a lot of development and weight to put on....
