Ah spring, wonderful spring when the Pyracantha's put on inches a day [like my waistline only they are more graceful], the ash is invisible with all the foliage, the dead looking Melaleuca Rev Gold is starting to get green tips and on it goes. Prune, Prune, Prune. But what a welcome season

@ Amanda - i know what you mean, its like they've been holding their breath and now are breathing easy again, question - did you draw that pic on your profile? i like it alot

@ Jamie - Tigerbark is ok, has sulked a little over winter (but so would i i i was forced to come from QLD to winter in Syd) is coming along better now with the warmer weather - will let it grow out a little during spring and choose a new leader for top soon.

@ Melaquin - it certainly is welcome, as much as l like to silloette and look of 'naked' trees, there's something special about spring.

Thought I'd make a contribution with my Thai Bells, this is about the only plant giving me flowers, everything else is just new growth

Spring - what is this spring thing you speak about ? Oh that's the time when you southerners get excited because you haven't had any flowers or leaves for months unlike those of us in the sunshine state  My bougys have been flowering for months and the elms and maples have so many leaves on them I can't count them even with my toes 8-)

Thanks Loretta those are beautiful dainty flowers.

Tony - I am jealous of your greenhouse like climate but I'm in no rush to move to QLD, my elms have been very confused this year they've also been in leaf for months, and some did not lose leaves at all. I've been trying to convince myself about getting a boug, can you sell their good points to me?

Hi Kvan64

Beatiful pics. ESP like the first azalea.
May I ask what type of camera/lens you use?
The pics are so crisp.
Thanks

Thanks for encouraging Tex. I used a Sigma 150mm f2.8 on the Canon 7D body. I haven't got a steady hand yet so still a lot to learn :)
Cheers,

Hi Bougy fan, I beg to differ a well planted garden down here has plenty of winter activity. The daphne has been flowering for months as have helleborus cycalmen,
witch hazel, jonquil, camellia, wallflower just to name a few. We are of course now we are coming into the season of plenty and get a floral display that will last for months.

gday tex :D

any chance of a pic of the whole tree of the seiju ?? :D

and if you are after a boug I am going to have a rather large one coming out soon, it has the maroon/red colour, more towards the maroon, other wise I will have a heap of shohin sized boug stock come mid summer of a few different colours, purple, pink, red and maroon. ;)

Nice jamie. I am thread grafting a few different colours to my big boug. It is looking good at the moment. I hope to be successful with this.

awesome mate :D its not often seen (if at all) to have multi coloured flowers on a boug. which colours are you going with? i cant see them not taking, boug are generally pretty strong which will definately help with the grafting process :D
