are they the advanced tubestock that dumper has for sale?
if so what I would be doing with them is wire them, then and some serious kicks, turns and twists and go for a yamadori style tree, should be able to get a decent shohin sized tree in around 4-5 years, and have the foliage looking tip top in another couple

All my excess juniper/pine stock I don't have a use for like Jamie said, I twist and turn almost in knots, then plant out. I have about 15 such small twisted plants growing on.
Good method to practice in my opinion. Turns somewhat normal stock, into a promising yamadori style plant with a promising future.
Good luck!

yeah jamie they are the ones dumper is selling, i saw you were on the list too.
i might wire them up and put them in good draining soil in grow boxes, and maybe give one or too a good twisting. thanks simo

Cool.
I have found when I put trees in the ground to grow, they take a while to get going. the first year is always slow and subsequent years they really take off.
Depending on the tree I will leave in without root pruning for at least 2 years and slow growers will get another year

Simo puting in the ground is ok. they will grow root straight down since they dont really have any root ball.
i think the reason y it is ground slow in the ground is because we tend not to water the ground as often as the plants on the pot.

One reason I have a ground growing area in my shadehouse, now with watering system! But it is already crammed with tropicals, native orchids, the girls violet collection...
The bonsai grow boxes are in the shadehouses too, tho, and things are booming along, including a few junipers.

Yup. That correct too. Some might still be sleeping and might wake up in a year or two.
