Hey guys

I wondered if you could tell me which trees are you able to fuse together to create a thicker trunk?

I know that you can do that with figs and tridents, any other ones? Has anyone got any pictures of their
successfully fused trees?

Most trees will fuse if you have enough time. Those which are quick growers and have an active, thick cambium will fuse the fastest. Young trees will fuse faster than old ones. Why don't you get a few cheap trees and experiment, it is fun. Sorry, I have a wild cherry fusing at the moment but it is new and not ready to put in front of a camera.

I am goint to try a heap of Callistimons that have self sown in a pot later in the summer, and also have lots of casuarina i have grown from seed theta I will try as well

I had some left over chilli's that ive put to this test. Guess we'll know in time.

Privets will - especially the Small Leaf Privet (Ligustrum Ovalifolia).

casuarina will fuse, steven has a couple like that! I beleive olive would aswell they will take some time though, Junipers, elms, crepe myrtle, bouganvilla, celtis, calliandra and a whole heap more

crepe myrtle is superb at self grafting. There was a specimen in my street that had two major branches joined like Siamese twins and another has arm sized branches joined naturally.
