I like this one Antonio - fantastic taper and it will become a nice tree once some work is done on the branching.

Its a big trunk, its got great nabari, sensational taper, branches belong on a much younger tree though. Thanks for sharing Ant, please keep em commin and thank your friendly club members from us.

It's a great trunk but it seems to lack movment to me. maybe this couled be helped with a change to te branches. I would be taking it to the peter adams workshop :D

Needs a lot of work on the crown, to do justice to that trunk.

I think one or possibly two foliage pads needs to grow across the front of the trunk. It's a lovely thick trunk but it looks too bare with foliage just on either side.

Would also love to see some updated pictures.

I think you'll find that those 2 young branches were actually thread grafts. The grafts may still be attached if you look closely. That big scar is where a branch died.
The photo was taken very early Spring before most of the leaves were out and before the tree had a full and trimmed up canopy.

Putting movement into a trunk that size would be interesting. I would like to see your technique.

If you want to see that tree, it will be on Display this weekend at the Bonsai Northwest Show at the Footscray Community Arts Centre.
