Hey everyone!!!
Well I thought I would post a start to one of the 2 collected olives I have received from another Ausbonsai member, not sure if he wants to be named or not but I think its going to be an absolute cracker in a few.

I haven't really done much yet, just a quick tidy up and a lot of staring to see what will be best for this tree. Still trying to figure out the best front there is a couple I could use but still waiting for something to grab me.

More days of staring I think.

Let me know what you think.

very nice stock mate!

now its just a waiting game, these things will pop all over the trunk all the way down if you give them enough time, its great with these as the profuse budding allows you to pick and choose which buds will become the new branches, they will get going quick in the grow boxes too!

lucky bugger, you can have big trees now ya back is fixed! hows it all going? you seem to be getting a bit more done with some bigger stuff yea? :D

Hey Mate,
Well I wouldnt say I am getting heaps done with bigger stuff yet. My wife is pretty understanding and moves my stuff around for me. When I picked the stuff up I couldnt lift it into the car and then when I got home....... waiting ..... waiting ,,,,,,,, waiting until the Mrs got home from work to place it one in the yard and one on the turn table to work on.

The back is okay still on alot of heavy painkillers and things are getting better slowly. Work has given me until November to sort myself out which is good and Vet Affairs are coming to the party, which is good. As my parents say those buggers broke me they should fix me.

As for the stock, I now have a massive waiting game to se where the buds come from and which ones I wanna keep. I am really excited to see how this will turn out I have high hopes.

Take it easy Jamie

Hey Archie,

Good boy waiting for the mrs... you had me worried you would try & unload them yourself with the excitement of it all. Was really good to see you up & around the other day, dont rush your back... its the only one you got.

That olive stood out right from when it arrived, bit of history. It was dug April 2009 on a Newcastle club dig in the Hunter Valley by another member, he had a good eye with this being one of the best of what was rather scrappy choices. The tree came to me when he & his wife decided to head overseas for a few years, asking me to share there collection around and caretake a few for them.

Looks better now you have cleaned it up a bit. It could do with repotting into better medium & given a good feed, you just need someone to lift & hold them while you work. I will be down for a w/e soon to do some prep work on trees at my folks, give me a yell if you need a hand with anything.

This hobby, art, passion, obsession of ours is all about waiting, staring, thinking and hoping that the bloody things do what we want sometime.

Matt
