Suiseki iceberg

Have had this stone for many years and would love to know if it would make a good Suiseki. It has always reminded me of an iceberg.

I would love that stone, but I would be afraid it would melt. Very nice indeed.
Get a nice Blue suiban tray made for it with some light coloured blueish white glaze on the inside for display. What are the dimension's of the stone?
Iwill post a picture of a suiban that I have to give you some idea.

Thanks for the idea. The dimensions are 14 cm long and 8 cm high overall.
I got the stone from an old gem collector many years ago and I believe it come from the Minyon Falls area near Lismore NSW.

What is it? Looks like a calcium/ lime / quartz deposit...?

Mitchell, The green band in the middle of the rock is Crysopraise (not too sure of that spelling) I assume the rest is weathered matrix

hi mate
interesting piece, what about a daiza instead of the suiban? I could see it with a nice mahogany stain that would contrast brilliantly without taking from the stone.

This sort of stone was very sort after and on a sad note two men were killed when they dug to deeply into the creek bank and the hole colapsed on them. To my knowledge after this the site was closed.
