Not a bonsai but a great tub plant. I have been growing this one to imitate the old tub plants you see in chinese temple courtyards.

It is going to be a real stunner when the foliage pads develop more. CC puts on a great display and the colour is sensational. Really great idea and so much better than 'standards' because the trunk has thickness and shape. Impressive.

Hi Mel, I work in a few big old hills gardens and every now and then find a treasure. This was one of them. The garden it came from was planted in the 50s so I suspect its quite old.
Thanks for your comments

yeah.

i think it will look good in those dragon pots.

there's 2 kinda that i know. one is the Tianjin and the other is a Yixing

most of the yixing one are water urn.

there are some with drainage holes. i have a couple of those back in malaysia. really nice

here's a link to it. http://eronjohnsonantiques.com/dynapage/IP10763.htm

even if it is a water urn... should be able to use diamond drill bits and with water slowly drilling a couple of hole thru it. will be a hard work :)
