Hey all,

I just got this nice stock tree from a nursery at a good price, they thought it was a chinese elm but i'm not so sure. The leaves are serrated but narrower and not glossy at all, this has me thinking it's an ash.

If it is an ash, are they deciduous? And can i start working on it now? Won't be repotting til at least the next valid season, winter if it's deciduous.

definately not an elm mate,

I would say it is one of the varieties of ash. you can tell as the leaves are opposite. :D

Birchman, it looks remarkably like the one I was trying to ID a few days ago, and Bonsaiboy50 before me - Desert Ash (Fraxinus Angustifolia) or European Ash (Fraxinus Excelsior):
