Radiatas are very strong. Why did you think it was going to die?
I love the trunk line you found in there, and it took me a few seconds to find it on the before photo. Love to see this in a few years.

Well the other tree could have the same treatment done to it.
You have some amazing pine stock! Where do you find it all? And the time to work it all!

Wow John,
Great work. I have often looked at P radiata as we have lots of them around here locally, both proper trees and wildlings (ex seed). Very vigorous though
I have always shyed away from them but your work has inspired me and makes me think to maybe have a crack at it and collect some trees from the wild next winter. There are plenty of trees (4-5 years old) I could work on already in the wild and collect later?
Any collection tips?
Cheers
BoNZai

Make sure the soil is wet before digging, and collect as much of the root-ball as you can.Spray with seasol and pot up in 100% diatomite around the whole root-ball. keep in shade for at least 3 months, and don't water, but spray foliage twice a day. good luck!
