Ok guys and girls i need someone to tell me what this plant is, i am finding heaps of them around my house and thought i might turn them into bonsai's so i need to know what plant it is to i can try to take care of it proply..

I did some research on the seed they came from and i believe i found a site that said it was a type of acer but not for sure.

if it helps, the seed has a little pod with a short flap attacheted to it and looks like a helliopcota when it falls

Could be a maple, but you need to wait till you get more leaves. The first two leaves, after the ones that push the seed off, are not always indicative of the mature leaves. Check back at the end of summer and we may be able to help. That's my opinion.

My trident seedlings first real leaves look like this, the next ones are normal.

Yes it is Acer negundo. Quite common (unfortunately). Horrible things. Dont tend to make good bonsai, but thats not to say theres not a good one out there somewhere. They arent worth it in my opinion.

so you dont think it will be good for a bonsai

if so ill see how they go and if one lives i can use it to practice and it wont matter

i agree 100% with all joel said..... i use them for mulch and compost
