Hey guys ive noticed everyone starting to post pics of there figs ect and thought id get to work and dewire, prune etc mine. The weather here has been getting warmer and my figs have been in active growth for a few weeks now. I have decided to defoliate and prune all of mine except the large melon seed that will get defoliated, pruned and repotted christmas time. If any cold weather comes through ill put them back in the hothouse where i can control temp and humidity. Anyway here are just a couple more to follow . i have 4 types Willow leaf, port jackson, retusa mellonseed and indian fig. Im parial to willow leaf but mainly have port jacksons

What great trees Noah, looking forward to the Melonseed pix as well if this is your standard.

the large tree in the first pic is a willowleaf height approx 800mm, next shohin willowleaf just under 190mm, the ror port jackson just over 220mm here are some more.
one of my favorites this thing was collected and is old height under 300mm
collected also i have been training a few seasons now i think it could be something , quite long at 800mm height around 500mm
a better pic there is a rock in there it has eaten never to get out.

THe first tree was started by lambert Wellington who had the ability to create amazing bases in his figs.I aquired the tree about 18 months ago from a member here and am just the current lucky custodian. It fruited heavily last season but this is the first good prune its had and needed for a few years. Earlist pics i have are 1993 and it was proberly 10 years than. The little shohin willow leaf was created by a newcastle bonsai artist who has some of the best figs and trident maples ive seen in this country , he is little known so i wont name names without his permission.

Great Noah, I like that multi trunked port jackson with the lumpy folded stems/rolls too! Have you got any pics from before their recent pruning?

Ash, i didnt even think of taking any they where all a big bush as i didnt touch them as they went through there first autumn ,winter in NE Vic. I may rewire now or wait and see if i get a second defoliation in around january. All the collected figs come from south coast of NSW where i grew up.

Man, I love looking at pictures of nice bonsai and these sure are nice Especially the 2 collected clumps - they really are my cup of tea.
