Hi all!

Thought I would start a thread to record the progression of this piece of material. Collected from a nursery where it had broken free from the 50L bag and ground grown.

Stands about 1.2m high and is 30cm across the base. Thanks to the 50l bag the roots have fused into a twisted mass of a base. Looks a mess but is similar to many of the Cas's located in the bush near me. The roots sent out were tourniquet-ed, by the weed matting laid down under near, which had somewhat dwarfed its growth.

So far I have removed the bag and weed matting and potted up, after soaking for the night in seasol. I also tidied up the main chop.

Not sure of the final height of this tree, will need to stay of a reasonable height as the trunk is fat.

All is looking good so far, new leaves are opening and all foliage is soft not crispy.

Being new to natives, the styling of this beast is leaving me a little stumped, so to speak. Perhaps I need to break out the

to get some movement going in the trunk? :?

And branches what the heck do you do with the branches on a native... Clip'n'grow or wire and try and put movement in the brittle things?... :?

Any advice on styling, I'm a lil' lost and would love some suggestions.

Thats an excellent peice of stock. personally i would let it grow out for 2 years, get it really pumping. then you will have more to work on.

What does this nursery have? good Casurinas?
