Howdy, Im a bit far away for this one, but anyone on the Gold coast or Brissie should maybe have a look. I was wasting time trolling through Ebay when I saw this ad:

mmmmm.......There isnt enough trunk there to warrent a chop! Grow it as a pot plant.

4 trunks in a straight line? No, thanks but no, thanks. They look to be about 30mm diameter. It might work if you took it back to one trunk but it's sorrowfully ugly the way it is at the moment.

You could let them grow out and fuse them. I have seen one like this in adelaide, looks like a wall of tree.

True. Scrape the xylem layer off, in the areas where the trunks will be in contact with each other, apply grafting hormone powder then tie them together tightly and wrap well with grafting tape. 3-4 months and they should have grown together well. I've done an approach graft on a fig with success. I tried it on a bunch of Lagerstroemia with mixed success, though that's a species I'd like to have another go at grafting into a bunch, to get a thick, fluted trunk.
