This is a weed that I have been digging out and poisoning from our back yard for several years.
After becoming interested in bonsai I started to take some notice of protruding roots and they look interesting.

We have always called this a privet but I don't think this is correct.

Any way can I make a bonsai out of this please ? Should have given a size reference this is a small specimen pot is 11cm OD Cheers

yes Prvet can become Verry nice Bonsai in Fact

Many "weeds" are used as Bonsia and are safe tot do so as usually we do not let them got to seed, so they can never be a Problem

Standard variety privet. Have hundreds of these around my house from seed dropped by 4 massive trees.
It reduces leaf size well, with aggressive defoliation. I do mine every 2 weeks through summer.
I have found the small leaf varieties good for bonsai also.
