Molty, when you're writing up a topic or reply, go down below the text box and you'll see a tab labelled 'Upload attachment'. Click on it and another box will open up below it. Click on 'Browse' and find the photo you wish to post then click on the photo. Now click on 'Add the file' alongside the browse button.
Now, below the text box it will say: 'Posted Attachments'. Below that you will see the name of the photo you wish to post.
Here in the text box, place your cursor where you want the photo to appear and left click your mouse button. Take your cursor down to the button that says 'Place inline' and click on it. That will put a line of code where you want your photo to appear. When you click on 'Submit' the photo will then appear in your topic/reply.
Hope this helps.

Hi Molty,
I am not computer savy like most of the people on this forum and I found the instructions for downsizing photos a bit confusing and could not get it right.

Then one day it dawned on me

...all I had to do was open the photo in my "picture file folder" and crop it there...it worked a treat

That's the folder you get rid of red eyes etc. Much easier for me
cheers Loretta

Hard to see what to do with this one, but olives are really good at backbudding, so maybe if you wait you will get a shoot in a more promising place. I can't see that the right branch is going anywhere useful anyway, so it won't hurt to get rid of it or jin it.

gday greth,
if i was to cut off all the right branches and jin the right thick trunk, what do think? He has left me in hole on this one, maybe i will cut everything off and have the tree start all over again.

If it was my tree I would cut to the bottom red line and start again. That straight un-tapered trunk, off the nice base does nothing for me. You could how every cut to any blue line, or progressively down to the red to ensure good back budding. Though I wouldn't worry about an olive.
I'll try and virt a bigger tree though, using the branching. You might be able to get that mad base blending with the trunk with some taper. Would require some tricky carving.

For me I would rotate the trunk to the right about 20 deg, and then lose the top above the first branch.
the first branch then becomes the new leader and my be shortened if needed
You can carve the lower trunk to generate taper and interest in that section
Be quicker to get a result rather than removing the complete trunk ( sorry mitchell

gady ken,
im liking that idea aswell. you should never say sorry unless you have done something wrong. true mitch, and if you do something wrong still never say sorry just never do it again.

Of coarse! I'm not even stupid enough, to follow my own advice without consulting others.
I think whatever the option, some carving needs to be done to the trunk.
I can see a very short and stout tree supported on the impressive base, many other options exist and I am by fair no expert of the subject of olives.
Have a few though and seem to prefer working movement into the from the base up. This is by no means the quickest way to a bosai, starting back at the base, but I believe it may be the way to a better bonsai in the future.
Just my

, off to give a virt a go.
