Hi all,

I joined a few weeks ago and this is my first post. I guess I've been in this hobby for about a year, I hail from Reservoir in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne. I'm still have no idea about bonsai so I've booked a class at my local nursery the "Orient Bonsai Nursery" which is in Reservoir. My question is what are peoples thoughts about this nursery and its classes?

Cheers

I have no idea on the nursery as I'm not in that area, I do
think you should join a club in your area.
And welcome to Ausbonsai.
Mick.

I agree that you should join a club!! I have been to orient several times and found them good. I haven't done a class there tho, but I'm sure it will help.

Nice people at Orient Bonsai,
I have seen these classes they are for beginners only, if you want to learn lots fast then you should join a club.

gday there chief,

i am in south morang,i am very familiar with orient bonsai and have spent alot of money there, they are very nice people the owners name is simon who i know well, maybe he remembers me cos of the money i spend there :tu: .
Anyway be very carefull with what you purchase from there as there are alot of defects on the trees and his little helpers are only learners themselves.(nothing wrong with that as we are all learning). :reading: eg. alot of wire scars on trunks, broken branches etc, there are tho some very nice trees which can be at a price tho. :o
Be nice and have respect, and he will give you a 15% discount :hooray:
keep going there and introduce yourself and he will be very welcoming towards you and you will appreciate the advice given, same as anywhere :tu:
have fun with bonsai, it will be very addictive but in the long run very rewarding :fc:  .

cheers molty
