Tropical Melbourne

This last week in Melbourne has been like none in memory.
Significant rainfall and 95% humidity, everything is wet inside and out

it is not supposed to be a tropical climate.
Today was the first time all week that I got to spend some time with my trees. I was concerned about my non tropical species being too wet, ended up spraying copper solution on almost everything. Better safe than sorry!

Hi Gerard,
It is a strange weather we have. "La nina" or something... and our thoughts are with the people of Queensland too.
My young Port Jackson Figs seem to like it. They have been sending out a lot of young roots... I am taking them inside too till those roots go to the soil.
Cheers.

I am happy with the weather but my thoughts are with all those affected by flooding.
I went around with the fertiliser bucket the day before and my plants have not looked better
Agreed it has been tropical, weeds that I pulled out last Sunday/Monday are still turgid, I will probably have to pull them out again

Same here Gerard. We copped 185 mm here and now the sun is out it is like a steam bath. If this keeps up we might not be able to grow the trees (maples etc) we are used to growing.

Figs, here we come.
