Drainage puddle is that small puddle that forms under the pot after wartering. here's how to prevent it.
note:this may not get rid of %100 of drainage puddle but it does get atleast %50

What you'll need.
1. scissors
2.a sponge

Method
1. Get the sponge and cut it to fit atleast 2 times under the drainage hole.
2. lift up the pot and put the piece of sponge that's cut under the drainage hole to see if it will fit and coverthe hole. If it doesn't cover the hole, go to step 1 and try again.
3. If it covers the hole, put the pot down while keeping the sponge under the hole and congragulate yourself. you've just prevented that annoying puddle.

By the way, make sure that the sponge isn't too thick otherwise it will lift the pot of the ground and it will tip the pot over.

If you tried this or just like the idea of it. Please reply because this method was invented by me, bonsai of tree.

Why?

First of can I ask why you want to get rid of the Puddle. Is the tree inside. In this instance all I do is water the tree let it drain on the sink and once it has drained matter of a couple of minutes it will no longer release any more water to puddle and the tree can be replaced with no worry of damaging the surface it is sitting on.

I would have some serious concerns about doing that to my trees, good drainage is an essential part of bonsai cultivation.

Not sure - but I think Bonsai of Tree is talking about watering his bonsai indoors. The puddle might be wetting the table.

I use a tray underneath, making sure the legs of the pot lift the pot higher than the amount of water for plants inside.

i get a towel and wipe it.

Use an Humidity tray, they were sold by Koreshoffs nursery, I dare say Ray Nesci has or had some as did Leong. I am sure they are still available.

I use it when I bring in Azaleas.

I would never put anything over the drainage hole other than Mesh.

Some people sound like that i'm saying put the sponge in the actual pot, no i put it under the pot and onto a table. Because i don't my table to rot of water damage
I also keep some of my bonsai inside.

As long as you don't inhibit the clean air flow.

Knew what you meant, but I believe this to be the better option, as it does not inhibit air flow or drainage, and is presentable. Cheers Pup
