Hi all,

Judst wondering if anyone knows the status of the Bon-Sue bonsai nursery in Allora ( near toowoomba), according to white pages the number is still active :reading: , have tried calling several times but just get an answering machine ( message does not make mention of a nursery)...

Am hoping they are still open....would be great to have a nursery reasonably close... :fc:

cheers in advance

Mick

Hi Mick

do you know about the bonsai nursery next the to the 'Chocolate Shop' at Highfields, Toowoomba? Go and see Sam - he's a lovely gentleman who has a wide range of plants from starters to more advanced. I was gobsmacked when i walked in a few months ago.

cheers

Stew

Hi Mick

I'll get more details over the next few days and post them for you. The bonsai nursery is 1 or 2 shops along the access road on the southern side of the Chocolate Shop complex. I'd say you'll be pleasantly surprised after trolling through convential nurseries on the DD.

Cheers

Stew

Hi Mick

Got some more info for you.

Not sure of the shop name but the telephone no is 4698 7968 but closed today (Tuesday). It is on the southern side of a group of shops called "The Village Green" located on the main road at the heart of Highfields. It has the front of a normal residential house with the workshop and nursery out the back. Sam will come ot to greet your probably. A very warm and unassuming guy.

Enjoy and let me know what you think when you get a chance to visit!

Hi Stew,

went in to the nursery today, typical toowoomba foggy rainy weather though....but i still braved it for a good look :D

It is called harmony Tea Garden, and as you said Sam is very helpful, unassuming, genuine person. I found it very pleasing.

I was very surprised with the stock and some of his own trees, ( but as a newbie I'm probably easily surprised  )

For those that are interested Sam runs Bonsai workshops 2nd saturday of each month at 2.30pm, cost of workshop is free, you only pay for plant, pot etc.....

I will definately try to be in town for the next one.....for a newbie like myself i found it very informative and am willing to soak up any info/experience I can.... :worship:

Again Thanks Stew for the heads up. :tu: ....greatly appreciated.. :hooray:

thanks

Mick
