Hi guys, I had an English box hedge lying around the house and decided to give it a go at styling it into a bonsai, ive posted a before and after shot...

Is it possible for this type of plant to grow into a bonsai and any advice on styling and caring for it would be very helpful. Ive used different thickness of wire for the thicker and thinner parts of the tree so hopefully I don't kill the thing haha.

I believe English and Japanese Box are very popular for Bonsai.

Do a search on the forum here as I'm sure they've been talked about (use box and buxus).

I don't believe enough people work with box species. They are hardy and can withstand some serious punishment. They recover well too.
I would be putting some more definite bends into your branching. Twist and turn to give the effect of an older branch. Then feed and water and give it heaps of sun. Let it go to thicken up a bit, but watch that wire.
