Hey guys i aquired this juniper ( squamata i think?) off Jow here a little while ago. i let it grow unhinderd for awhile where it was getting a bit bushy. It got a haircut with scissors hence the brown tips as i was lazy for one , when it rebuds i will finger tip prune from now on, the deadwood got sulfered and the outer bark on the trunk etc was removed to expose the red colour . its hard to see in the pic but it has come up a nice red. id like to get ait more filling in on the left hand side but that will come in time tree height ( including pot) is about 9 inches not including the cascade.

I woud like to see the foliage in the top reduced to accentuate the semi cascade

Looks like a Juniper Procumbens to me tho.

it's looking fine, despite the brown foliage tips.
I agree with Ken that the tree looks like J.procumbens 'Nana' at the moment, but I think from memory it's J.squamata 'Prostrata'. I could be wrong though

This tree has a lot of potential, which is probably what you saw when you bought it.

Design wise, may I suggest a few adjustments? I wouldn't mind seeing this tree a little lower in the pot but I'm not sure if the shari will allow it. It may also benefit if the branch that is on the left hand side of the cascade was a little less bulky and a little shorter, it is a bit dominant at the moment, some branching elsewhere on the left side of the cascade might improve the tree and fill a few of the spaces, that may be able to be achieved with a slight change of angle (rotation)? I really would like to see a branch on the left side below the apex to anchor it visually, there is a small branch there at the moment that could be used perhaps?. Other than that, maintain the negative spaces between the branch layers and she will be a ripper.

Mojo i agree with you on all points, i will reduce that left cascade branch some more as it is a bit bulky as you said and my plan was to develop that small left hand branch below the apex to balance the tree abit more. the tree looks good from slight rotations , the final FRONT may change slightly next repot , im not sure how much lower it can be repotted as the shari goes most the way down and i may encounter problems down the track with it. give it a few weeks while it rebuds and tipped pruned than ill take another photo thats if this cool weather next week dosent slow it down . 25 max and 5-6 at night all next week they reckon.
