Just thought I would throw this one in to for your comments. It needs some work but love to know what you guys think of this one. It is a little unbalanced but i am working on that . It was defoliated only about 5 weeks ago

Thanks for posting it - it has a wonderful feral base.
Have you thought about putting a more solid top on it? The trunk after the first two branches is not much thicker than the first branch, and the top doesn't sit on the lower two branches with enough weight, if that makes any sense at all. Maybe take a bit off the end of the left branch?
Good tree.
Gavin

I think the reason it looks unbalanced is because the tree moves to the right, however the first and largest branch goes strongly left. I suggest you bring the lenght of the left branch right back, then extend the right hand side of the tree. The apex needs widening and it needs a different pot, I think an unglazed rectangle would be great.
It's great stock and will look good in very short time.

Grow the apex on then decide on the branches. The trunk and rootage seem to lend themselves towards a slanting style, which would mean the first branch's length would be ok as it would be on the 'sunny' open side of the tree if it were in nature and therefore grow strongly. Perhaps if the secondary branches on the first branch were brought down a bit highlighting the difference between the two first branches the balance would be better. Growing the apex and developing taper should be the priority at the moment if it were mine.
Nice tree
Andrew

Hi Mickaus, The tree is 900mm high including pot and 900mm at its widest point (branch tip to branch tip) the trunk is 350mm at soil level
