Sick maple?

HI there,

My Trident Maple is starting to concern me a little. I'm not sure if it is sick and needs some particular treatment. Please check out my pics below:

The first two pics display a few symptoms, namely the black spots, and browning to blacking tips. The third pic is just to show the extent of the symptoms (not that pervasive, yet)

Being a beginner, I have little experience to go off. Could it be root rot? Or maybe phyllostict leaf spot, which is apparently pretty common around the beginning of autumn, and not too serious.

In addition, the bonsai came with a little mound of moss around the base. The moss was a nice green initially but has turned black-ish mostly. Any ideas on what I'm doing there?

Also, images of the tree about a month ago, when I first bought it, can be found at this topic:

Anyway, thanks for your help.

Nic.

It does not look to bad at all Shills. It is turning a little which is normal and it looks like you are overwatering. Take the rocks off the top and let it breathe now it is Autumn. Put it outside and it should have a very light fertilise and it will be fine.
