When it started to rain today, I decided to bring this mugho clump inside and give it a rewire.
Previously it was not styled as a windswept .
Any comments, suggestions or criticisms welcome. Next repot I will try to move it a little further off centre.

Gday mate - looks great! Have you thought about any dead wood? An extreme would be to make the two right trunks as totally deadwood - that would make it look even more windswept.

Thanks for the suggestion Leigh, I will look at it with new thoughts.

Good work from the before shot, and is good as it is, but I like Leigh's suggestion also as it appears 'a little' busy. From the before shot I would take out or jin the 2 right trunks to leave the first visible trunk as the main one and sweep the small branches across the trunk. Muhgo is such a nice little pine, and this is a fine Bonsai. Which we could grow them here.

Gerard an observation, first off I like where you are heading with this. However one thing I notice with this and some other windswept trees.

Is we have all the main heavy branches and, in this case trunks as well all going one way as in windswept.
Then we have the little one at the top, standing up like a young man on his honey moon night against all odds.

Then lower down near the edge of the clump that would get the first wind. Going in the opposite way. This is one of the hardest styles to get right. It is this reason,
if you wish for windswept all must flow as the wind blows them one way.

If however you wish for windblown, then you can have these little anomalies, because wind blowing, as in from one direction part of the day the changes, later in the day to come from another direction.
Will cause the effect of some foliage not all going one way. As I said just an observation.

It is a valid point you make windswept or windblown, I have given a few branches a further "tweak" bearing in mind what you have said. I will now sit back and wait for the foliage pads to develop a little while I contemplate the idea of trunk removal and jins.
