Not long after started bonsai, I came across this strainless steel turntable (and the pots) in a pile of rubbish in the bush near home:

hi guys
it is better than lazy susan it is a stainless steel turn table so wont rust and to find stuff is
even better where i live people are tossing out plastic pots which i got plenty of
all i need is a drill bit to drill the holes in the pots so now i make it a habit to go to
the saturday and sunday markets every week end to see what bargains i can get
cheers dean

I am a defender of these plastic lazy susans. I pick them up from two bob shops and find them pretty good for my needs. I also have an old computer type swivel chair which I took the seat off and whacked on a piece of marine ply. After 18 years I will have to replace the ply as it is nearly stuffed. I like what you picked up Dean, great possibilities with that one.

you all probably know this but, i've seen people use old study chairs with the seat taken off and used a plank of wood. i love these type of turn tables.

Hi all, I thought id make use of an old opp-shop desk chair I had siting round the joint collecting dust :lost: So I pulled the thing apart and made an adjustable Bonsai turn-table out of it :tu:

Future improvments: Lockout wheels and a larger cicumference top, possibly fashioned out of MDF or similar.
Cost: $5 :tu:

I think someone else on here did something similar or the same.. it works great too :tu2:

Velvet! They work a treat :D .. cheap as chips and more satisfying to use than an over priced manufactured version

I have an old Office chair base to use for my big trees as well
I also agree with Ash as I have a plastic Lazy Susan from a $2 shop ( cost $2 too  ) I use it on the desk for smaller trees and have had it for at least 5 years now :-)
Love recycling
