Good luck. today i was at Bunnings and was sooooo dissapointed at the offering... so many s#%it offerings in natives... well, let's say, lots of variety. But not what i prefer, old pot bound stock. so will keep looking. Ya know, you buggers have got me wanting natives more than ever.... :)

Banksia from nursery stock can be a very quick and good bonsai.
Attached is a B integrifolia var integrifolia bought as nursery stock many moons ago in a 10"(250mm pot) and now the base of the trunk would easily measure the size of the original pot,ie 10"(250mm)across. Picture is about 5 years old and I have since repotted the tree(Just 3 weeks ago during all the heat) into a real flash black and red pot from Ray Nesci. I have also shortened the branch on the left side.
I have to get a picture of the tree more recently as it has come up quite well.
If you can source B integrifolia var compar you also get a corkier bark and smaller leaves.
