I am building the pads for now and is planning to graft in some Octopus style roots by using seedlings.

Sorry Lennard, to messy for mine. I think it is not sharp enough in its silhouetted appearance. Maybe you need to lose a couple of branches to open it up more. When it is in full foliage it will look like a topiary, good stock though.

Lennard. Usually when some one has already remarked on a tree or style, with similar thoughts too mine I do not answer. This time I felt that there was some need to say that the style that you perceive is far too messy as Bohdi put it.

When we style tree we should try to make it look like a tree yes but with some order. Walter Pall, a great advocate for the Natural style Bonsai, says that to just stick it in a pot and call it natural is wrong you have to make it right by your hand. Which is not that simple.
