SMALL TRIDENT TRUNK

A mate won this at a bonsai meeting and didn't want the 6' tree. I bought it from him because it had the makings of a nice shohin - or just a tad over. The naked trunk is about 15 cm tall and I am working towards a tree under 35 cm with a wide spread. Big trunks are great but I am happily working on a tree I love in a size that is suitable. I also knocked off an important branch but with some care the tree shot where I wanted it on both sides. Another season to complete the basic development of the lower branches and start developing the top.

I'm about to start looking out for a pot for it.

Hi Mela, that's not a bad base and lower trunk but I would really like to see that sacrificial leader grown on more to 2-3x it's current diameter which would help smooth the transition between trunk chop and leader, especially if this tree is going to look good in it's winter silhouette in the future.
Cheers,
Mojo

Hey MelaQuin, like the others, I am interested to see how you have progressed your trident if you still have it?
Cheers, Dario.
