So basically i want to bulk up my little Fukien Tea. Putting it in a big pot outside. Ive been searching and cant find a good answer. I know they grow in clay type soil, but what would be a good mix to get it growing a thick trunk, in little time? I was going to just put it in potting mix but i dont want to slow the growing with the wrong type or less preferred soil type...
Also appart from seasol, what would be a good fertilizer someone could recommend?

Hey mate,
I would put it in a potting mix and diatomite mixture. 50% of each should be ok. Use seasol, but it’s not a fertiliser. I use Miracle gro on most of mine that are in growth stage.
Also if you want it to bulk up in the trunk leave any low shoots to grow into sacrifice branches. And just let the tree go fairly nuts for a while.
Also put it in a growing box rather than a pot. Foam boxes work well.
It will always take time though. Patience is something you need to learn for bonsai.
