The tree was purchased in 2006. At the time, it was in a large plastic pot. It had been growing in the ground for 15 years. Since 2006, the root system has gradually been reduced by 200mm. The potting mix is akadama. The tree is re-potted twice a year. It was re-potted and pruned in April 2011. It will now be let to grow until it finishes flowering in the spring when it will once again be pruned and potted. The tree has red flowers. It is fertilised once a month with NPK Blue and fortnightly with liquid fertiliser. The height is 760mm; the width at the lower branches is 800mm; the circumference at the base 480mm.
