Small Collected Chinese Celtis

These are a few of the small Celtis I pulled on the property yesterday.

I did not have the energy to collect any of the large trees yet. They have been severely pruned and I have a couple of large poly boxes and a bag of diatomite so this might happen over the weekend.

These were all pulled out by hand (the soil was quite soft) and I potted them in poly boxes with either 50/50 perlite and potting mix or 50/50 crusher dust and potting mix.

I did not take any photos of the roots on these as I was in a hurry to get them potted up. Bit small, but will see how they go.

Any suggestions are welcome. I'm a novice and know little (aside from what I have gleaned from this site) about Celtis.

Cheers
Elmo

At this stage just leave them alone and get them growing strongly, once they have recovered from being moved then you will need to cut them back very hard to force some growth down low on the trunk.
