hi all
the little wife is away at the moment and i thought i would tidy up the front yard while she was away ( pick up a few brownie points)
any way I got this crab apple 7 odd years ago for her to get an interest in bonsai thinking a nice flowering bonsai might start the interest but to no avail it was not a good specium
branches started to high and lacked taper so i threw it in the ground about 4or 5 years ago and decided on the weekend i would give it another chance as a bonsai .
so into a training pot and some serious pruning i think it has some huge potential the large branch out the side is just a sacrificial branch to rob a couple of thread grafts for a head start
still a long way to go but it just a matter of getting some branches going
cheers

Hi Rawhide , now lets get it right , the cooks away and you've had a play .Very nice , but the cook she might not be keen on the yard now . The advantage of ground growing at its best that's for sure . I like your courage , guess you will have some explaining to do when the lady returns .Keep us updated on the progression of the tree tree .Never mind about your recovery .Cheers Alpineart
