You can get away with it if the tree is little: but not in something this size - it just gets silly. Same with double pink mume: Cerasifera is simpler and clearer. Gavin

Would have to disagree with you there Gavin. I have one that I am working on as a large broom style, that will be ready next year and it will be a jaw dropper!! Will keep you posted.

I think you are both right, but the answer ultimately depends on how you choose to style the tree.

Baristaben, maybe semi-hard cuttings in early summer? I'm not an expert. Winter cuttings tends to try and flower their brains out, then nothing much happens at all... Good luck.

i found cuttings taken in mid to late spring, once they have hardened off a bit. i put them in a black platsic pot with moist potting mix in it then cover it with a plastic bag. sounds dodgey but has given me the most success
