These little projects will not be going into competition, for various reasons. This however where most of my Shito Mame and Shohin,
start from big trunk chops smaller trunk chops and interesting cuttings. When I take cuttings I look for some already movement and shape in them. Then concentrate on the roots, when I have some that do not quite meet my standards, I give them away.

Here then are the starting projects. I forgot to show what I meant by wrapped around a stick so have just taken a photograph of it on the big chop.

them tree's looking good i am currently try my hand in the smaller bonsai as i cant lift anything to heavy
due to back surgery so i got a small serissa about 11 cm from top of pot nice looking little tree

This is an alternative to wire, to get movement in the whip that is going to form the basis of the trunk.

Which was done to the one I mentioned, after the original chop.

Hi Pup , i like this method ,to me its safer than wire for thin whips . I break less and don't have to worry about wire marks .I have a few Eucalyptus done this very way .Thanks for posting .Cheers Alpine

An update on some of these trees, I now have plenty of cuttings put down hoping for a bumper crop still some to be put down. Just soaking in water so they do not dry out.
Any way here are some the pics are not great as the light was not the best and I do not use the flash maybe should have.
