Craig I reckon it would make great firewood
I swore I would never get one, last year I was given one by a friend very similar to yours, its back in the ground for a couple years of clip & grow training before I dig it again
Look forward to seeing where you take it, some interesting wood...
Matt

Cool tree Craig! I like that deadwood and I like the front displayed in the second last photo. I think showing only the deadwood will not work and not showing it would be a pity! For now, I'd just let the tree grow grow and grow some more. Keep all those suckers trimmed back and give it a chance to strenghten up. Any idea when it was dug out?

Cool - if it has been growing on for a while, I guess there is no reason not to crack on. I'd personally chop out the thick lower branch and work with the top one as an apex. I'd probably also rotate it a little so you don;t get a 50/50 live/dead view of the trunk from the front. I'd need to put more thought into what design options exist other than the normal old left right back route . . . . Hmmmmm

About 4 years of neglect ago, from the Rolystone area. Pic six has some nice appeal.

Pic 6 for me is the best view

Nice contrast between the bark and the carving
