Hello,

I found this Banksia in my mates front yard, growing in what seemed like 95% sand.

Anyone know the variety of this banksia????

Collection point: Port stephens for reference.

Could be B serrata or B aemula(Wallum or Swamp Banksia). B aemula used to be called serratafolia as it was so similar.

I would be inclined to go with the consensus, of it being B, serrata as the leaves look very similar to mine. The white fungi type stuff as you call it, is probably Mycelium.I am sure the Botanist and horticulturist will know if the have a look see.

Was the Banksia buried right up to where in effect the two trunks and new branch are growing?
