Howdy folks,

I have a ficus that is getting the chop in a couple of days and I was just wondering what the best conditions for a ficus trunk are? full shade, semi shade?
Also how watered should I keep it? cheers

Hi Dudzy
You can keep it in semi shade if you want and keep it moist. Figs are pretty hardy and it takes a lot to kill them. I don't worry about putting anything on cuts or chops on figs - they don't need it.

Cheers for reply bougy :)
I hope this all turns out well, as it seems too much of a waste to see the trunk go to waste. The top has been air layered so it can be used elsewhere.

Hey Stew,

The trunk chop went well, very clean chop and I can't wait for the new branches to start appearing.
The top half went well too, it is currently potted up and getting used to its new root system.

I will post some photos soon hopefully, when this rain goes away.
