Hi there! I was hoping someone could help me with this.
I was given this with a japanese maple, but this was unidentified.
It's probably obvious... but I just want to clarify.
Also, any suggestions would be great ..
This is my first bonsai (other than my Japanese Maple - will have to post photos also)
I have been researching, reading books, going through forums as much as ppossible.
Am still a little nervous to start so jsut wanted some pointers.
Should I prune these roots?
Does it need wiring / shaping?

The tree is more likely a Cuppressus than a juniper. Common name of most of these is book leaf fir or book leaf juniper.
Hinoki cypress is also a possiblity, not a juniper though.
