These were collected 2 years ago and basically ignored. I had plans but nothing eventuated until i read Grants topic on Penjing . All it took was a look at the pics Grant posted and that was the catalyst for this gunna-be Clump style Raft .
What to do with some very poor collected plums

out with the cordless drill and screw them together with stainless steel screws . The 2 main trunks were first

then the third trunk was position and screwed in place ,

a small section of bark and sap wood was removed to help fuse if possible all the trunk bases together

The forth trunk was positioned to the rear to aid depth in the finished composition

Finally the fifth tree was positioned and screwed together ,

with the clump complete its into a large pot with a section removed for a main trunk to lay over .

This will no doubt become the raft section of the new trainer .

Many thanks to Grant for the topic on Penjing and to the elderly Gentleman for the motivation to get myself into gear and create this new work in progress . Later this season or next winter this will be placed into the grow beds for some serious building up of the foliage and branches .
