Whats this species? Fairly common species, almost completely leafless, gets to approx 3m tall from what i have seen.

any ideas at all as to what it may be?

Cheers ash, Did a google search, not Jacksonia ramosisima but Jacksonia scoparia. Anyway cheers for the point in the right direction

It is neither of these. Hornet, Jacksonia scoparia (what I initially thought it was) has an orange semi circle through some of the petals. The photo you showed does not.

hmmm, couldnt find any pics of Jacksonia scoparia with orange ( not say some dont have it). J. scoparia is found in this area, might send pics to the herbarium and see what they say. In the meantime, any other species you think it could be? If i dont get the exact species name i'm not worried, at least i have the genus name

looks like a broom, maybe Cytisus, the Warminster broom ( C.x praecox) with a strong overpowering scent.
or next thought could be (C.scoparius) is classed as a weed in some places. I have a white one.


just had another thought after looking in my native garden book, look up Dillwynia retorta, says its origin is Qld & NSW.
