[ID] collected native

This little tree is yet another product collect from under powerlines. Years of being tortured by mowers has left a nice little trunk. All of the last couple of years growth has shot up. Can anyone suggest the best way to make good use of this lovely aged little trunk. Oh and can anyone ID this little native.

Thank you

Hey Steve,

Any chance of some clearer pics? It could be a Leptospermum or one of several other related genera.

Have you collected it yet?

Matt

Thanks for the response MattA

I have already collected it. It was unexpected so I didnt have a grow box ready, so straight in the ground it went. It didnt mis a beat with new shoots popping out staight away. It has a lovely dark purple folaige, starting green and darkening to purple. I also beleived it to be a Lepto. but being a newbie to all of this I wasn't sure. I have cut it back since this photo was taken. I might have to wait for more folaige to get you a bietter pic. Only been in the ground for 4 weeks, i am reluctant to move it to a grow pot. I have removed alot of the upward growing branched as i feel they fight against the horizontal trunk. I am still not sure how to style it.

Thanks

Steve W

For now I would let it be & not cut any more off, it needs atleast a few months, preferably a year undisturbed to rebuild its energy reserves.

Nice little find, look forward to watching it progress.
