Some preliminary work done to get the design started. Notice the substantial stub left on the removed trunk with the bark left on to aid the change of sap flow without risk to the tree. This was also done so the sap vein on the left of the trunk could stay alive and flow into the new trunk, otherwise the whole left side would die off and leave a weaker looking tree. All tips also left on to draw the sap along the new line
