Where to get foam boxes?
Does anyone know where I can get some more large foam fruit containers used as training pots in Yarra Valley area? I've always had difficulties obtaining these so a good source would be handy.
Cheers,
Todd

Go to any coles/woollies and just strike up a conversation with the guys who maintain the fruit area. They have always helped me out in the past.
Or independent fruit shops. It also helps if you buy a load of groceries if you are going to an independent fruit store before you ask them for the foam boxes.

I style Bonsai naturally, just as they would appear in the wild.

Broccoli boxes are great and the have tight fitting lids and make good storage containers for soils as well as solid grow boxes..Rory wrote:Go to any coles/woollies and just strike up a conversation with the guys who maintain the fruit area. They have always helped me out in the past.

You can sometimes get them from Seafood places as well, so try your local fish and chip shop.

The "complimentary" carry baskets from the Big Green Shed or supermarkets make awesome foam-box-sized collanders.

I don't trust Bonsai, they are a little shady.

Re: Where to get foam boxes?
I have liked going to aliexpress, and I think you can get quite a number of units, in bulk, from them. Try typing in styrofoam boxes and see if that will give you the solution that you need. Hopefully you'll be able to get them for free by going to make friends with the supermarket guys instead, but I should think that this would be a good alternative in case that doesn't work out...

Re: Where to get foam boxes?
There is a local fruit shop near my place. They have hundreds of foam box at the back daily. People are welcomed to get many as they like. The owner said ' take as many as you want, don't need to ask.'
