MARC NOELANDERS - Coming to Sydney
MARC NOELANDERS – 24th – 26th August 2012
Presented by
ILLAWARRA BONSAI SOCIETY
_______________________
‘The Tops - Weekends Workshops’ is an annual weekend away presented by The Illawarra Bonsai Society Inc.
A weekend of Fun, Friends, Bonsai Demonstrations, Master classes, Bonsai Display and Critique.
This year our guest presenters are:
Marc Noelanders
Marc Nöelanders was born and lives in Belgium. He has studied extensively in Japan under noted Japanese masters, including Kimura. He has been recognised by John Naka as having a recognizable and unique style. In his own characteristic way, he knows how to shape trees and show them in a new form to the world. He teaches in Russia, Europe, Canada and the United States.
Marc Nöelanders is without doubt one of Europe's leading Bonsai teachers, combining great natural artistic ability with a mastery of technique. Marc's book, 'Bonsai Art', clearly demonstrates just how talented he is as a bonsai artist - his trees are unique and daring. Marc is the founder of the Nöelanders Trophy – http://www.bonsaiassociation.be/en/gall ... gal=trophy
Tony Bebb
Tony’s bonsai journey began at the age of 13 when he attended his first workshop with Tom Yamamoto. In 1984, having just turned 17 years of age, he started work at the family Bonsai nursery in Brisbane, and his father started teaching him the ‘Art’ of Bonsai. He worked there for 16 years, learning about, and growing bonsai.
He is a nationally and internationally registered Bonsai tutor and demonstrator, and is well respected for his ability and expression, as well as his individualism and freedom of thought. Tony regularly travels to other Australian States conducting workshops and demonstrations and has demonstrated and conducted workshops in New Zealand on a number of occasions, including 2007 when he was a headliner at the New Zealand National Bonsai Convention.
He now conducts private workshops for fellow enthusiasts and is current President of the Bonsai Society of Queensland.
The weekend is open to everyone, places are limited and will fill quickly so please register ASAP
More information, Brochure and registration forms and details can be downloaded at http://www.illawarrabonsaisociety.org/tops-weekend.html
Hope to see you there

Re: MARC NOELANDERS - Coming to Sydney

It is perfect timing for the next round

I would like to go into a bonsai pot this time. I am thinking a 5 sided stumpy cascade pot to start with unless you have any better ideas

Re: MARC NOELANDERS - Coming to Sydney
probably a stupid question but would you need to register for the whole weekend + the workshop with Marc or can you just pay to do the workshop only?

Re: MARC NOELANDERS - Coming to Sydney
Pot sounds fine. Would need to be stumpy to handle the visual (and physical ) weight of the rock. Not so usual to see 5 sides. Better bring plenty of wire by the looks.Bretts wrote: It is perfect timing for the next round![]()
