Species: Melaleuca linariifolia “Snow in Summer”
Trunk: 8mm
Source: Bonsai World
Cost : $5
My Skill Level: Low
Looking forward to this one, David from Bonsai world showed me one that they forgot to water, they threw it under a bench that was flooded from run off and it was loving life in its little bog...
Always wanted to get a Mel or two - I think I just killed a melaleuca ericifolia tube this week during a repot, so we shall see how I go with this one!
Sorry for the angle... its surprisingly hard to measure the trunk haha.

Really happy how this one is going.
Tempted for a haircut but leaving it to grow.
Base is just over 2cms!

Gave a haircut a few weeks ago and tried to do a wire but had a few cracks... retreated for now...
Still deciding on the direction of this one.
Keep the 3 mains or bring it to one or two...
Letting it rest from the brakes I did when attempting to wire the straightness out of the right branch...

HI RustyK, Sad to see your tree died but i think its really shown how fast the base thickens in such a short time. I'll be heading out to pick a few up myself i think.

That’s a definite shame.
I’ve seen these come back from the brink before.
But if the base is brown after a scratch test, it’s not looking good.
