Mel halmaturorum Yellow?

I have a group of halmaturorums growing on from tube stock. Late last year this one started to put out a lovely butter yellow colour. I cut it back and it continued growing, with the colour . Al the trees are in the same soil mix and have been nursery flats with a good quality potting mix over winter. Showing a little discolouring on the edges but i think it could be due to the cold wet condition we have had recently.
In two minds to either cut back again or to let grow out and take some cuttings as the tree puts on a bit of growth.
Any suggestions?

I had one start to lose its darker green and eventually turn light-yellow / green..... but then it just got worse and died months later. Mine was most probably from wet conditions and low sun though. Hopefully yours comes good.

I have found this species of Mel has low tolerance if it stays in low levels of sun.

HI Rory ,
This one has been a bit of a mystery as it is out the front in the sun seeking melaleuca cart and probably get more sun than most of my trees. It has kept pace with all of its peers and shared the tray al winter with another one. Both have roots in the flat tray. But i guess you can never know what they are up to.

Maybe check the mix is draining well?
Mine was in a soggy mix that wasn’t helping

Could also be genetic? How long have you had it?

Also what about fert? Has this one missed out? Had too much?

Does it look sick? Or just a different colour?

Is it the new growth that's yellow and in then goes green?

It could be a variant of genetics. What first struck me is if you have these growing in the same condition soil, feed, sun etc…. Why are your pots also so different? One has lovely healthy moss established on it the other has practically none?
I find this interesting when I come across it in my yard. Usually indicates that something different happening.
Either being missed watering or holding too much water, curl grubs, root bound or winding, or compacted root ball under the trunk. Just my thoughts. Hope you find a solution.

Thanks for the feedback, guys, great to get a few ideas. I will wait till this rain passes and repot and see what i find. Starting to think a soil problem although growth has been good.
Dansai I think it is yellow as never really shown signs of sickness

Kirky your point about surface conditions got me thinking, great observation.

The water does not sit on the surface at al. Also checked the other trees and there is a mixture of moss, full on weeds and a bit scraggly growth like yellow. I guess time will tell as what is going on.

I don't think wet feet will trouble this tree too much. There could be some chemical imbalance in the mix though?
