Hi all,

Just an update on the server upgrades and the recent bugs.

Darren, the previous developer working on the upgrade was not able to complete the task so I have engaged a new guy, Mark, to help. Mark has 14 years experience with phpBB so I'm hoping he will be able to get it done.

Mark has been running some tests which may have caused the current issues with Tapatalk and the logout bug.

We have created a test environment and are trialling the upgrade in a mirror of the forum. We won't upgrade the live database until all the bugs have been ironed out.

The main issue we are experiencing is with the gallery which was developed by a third party and that organisation no longer exists. The gallery is not compatible with the upgraded version of phpBB and so far there is no known solution. Worst case is we may have to abandon the gallery which would result in some images not being able to be displayed in some posts. I think this would affect posts by Rory and Ash mostly :palm: We will do everything possible to get around this and minimise disruption.

I'm also working on some additional features for AusBonsai and Ken is currently working on getting the Wiki back up and running.

Please be patient and continue to post any bugs or errors in this thread.

Thanks and regards,
Steven

Hi all,
We’ve relocated AusBonsai to a new server and you might notice that it’s much faster to load now.
The testing of the upgrade is going well and we will be upgrading the live forum tonight.
I can’t guarantee things won’t break but I can guarantee we will be able to fix them.
All things going to plan you should be able to ‘Like’ my next post in this thread.

Regards
Steven

Good morning all,

I'm very happy to advise that the forum upgrade has been successful :D
You will find lots of new features including but not limited to; multiple image upload by drag and drop and the ability to Like posts to thank the author. You may have also notice a refreshed AusBonsai logo.
Please take the board for a test drive and feel free to reply and share the features you find in this thread. Also report and bugs you may find.
I'm aware the wiki, directory etc have broken again and Tapatalk is not yet functioning. We'll be working on them today.

Thanks very much for your patience and support of AusBonsai. I hope you will be pleased with the new user experience.

Regards,
Steven

Ok, did a test, first image I uploaded the usual way, and it was NOT the tree shown, and the info showing here says the correct file name, just not the right image. Second image I dragged in, and it's now taken over both spots...
Goldenmarble.jpg
now dragged the golden marble shot in and it's in place ok... not sure why the first one was overwritten....

Nice job Steven,
I like the new logo and all the changes I have seen so far.
I haven't found the button enabling users to click and see all posts since they last logged in. I found this to be a valuable tool in the previous version. It is probably right in front of me but i haven't found it yet.
Regards
Steve

Scratch that....just found it under "Quick Links"
