Such alot of work I know.....

I'm leaving this static until early Spring, then I will attack it at all sides. i could get away with a trunk chop now, but my gut tells me to hold off until later. When I was looking at it this morning, I noticed its fruiting again for the second time since I got it and have taken a couple of pics of them (it will be a few years until it does so again so I had to get a photo for posterity lol).

Hi All,

Last but not least to update is this one, once again a quick and boring update as nothing has been done to it as yet. Its still putting out fruit which is nice, but it will be a while before that happens again come spring.

Definitely one of the most beautiful of all the figs. Now if you could combine the bark of these babies, with the leaves of a green island, i'd be in bonsai town. Great stock too, a lot options.

Thanks BBM, I agree but hey I love all figs but there some that have characteristics that are just that bit more appealing than others.

Well today was time for this one to get an overhaul, from what I had in mind for it, it changed once I barerooted it.

All it needs now is some spagnum on the surface and a lid for humidity.

Hi all,

A quick update on this one. Like PJF #1 it took its time to send out new shoots, there were lots of new buds but none that were eager to grow.

I'm quite happy where it has put out shoots, all in good spots. Once they have put on some substantial growth, I will then start to wire it up which I'm hoping for that around late December.

Hi all,

Quick update on this one. In the space of a few weeks it had put on a bit of growth and I took this opportunity to apply some wire loosely to get some general direction into the primary branching. Still early days but think it is on a decent path now.

The plan is to fertilize well, continue pinching the tips and depending on growth might look to defoliate it mid to late Jan. It wont be going into a pot until early spring (famous last words.....).

Hi All,

So much for me leaving this until January, I removed the wire a few days ago and today decided to defoliate and rewire it today. My logic is that I might get away with another one before Autumn but we shall see (so I wont rule it out lol) It has been fed twice and is in good health.

HI all,

Just a quick update on this one, not much really to update on it seeing it was only defoliated mid December but here it is as of the 11th of Jan,

I have to say I cannot complain as every branch on it has come since August 10 and I am impressed with how quick they grow. Albeit I do think that the weather has had a big part in it because we did have an extremely mild winter in Sydney, which seemed to set the tone so Spring and Summer thus far.

Now that its starting to refoliate well, I will trim it in a few weeks after its been fed but do feel I could get away with another defoliatiion come mid Feb but we shall see.
