Hey thanks Anthony, I'm loving that little pot too! Luckily in Brisbane the figs just keep growing and growing, so I'm spoilt in that respect!

I must concur with the comments on how well this has been developed. The trees has really grown into its new pot and now looks settled.
I am voting as the the current back as the new front though!

Thanks John and Watto. I have to say I'm very lucky to live in Brisbane when it comes to growing figs, even though this fella doesn't seem to be growing strong roots, it's certainly doing the business above ground!
I'm still wavering, when it comes to the front and back, Watto, hopefully I'll manage to make a decision some time soon.

Great job Mel, this fig is doing some really nice things - I had a peek at the original photo and then looked at the last photo you posted ... let's just say it has moved on!
How'd the root work with the matchsticks pan out??
Thanks for posting, I'm enjoying the progression.

Thanks Kane, looks a little different now, compared to the last shots here. I need to update the photo, don't I?

Re: [Mel] Ficus salicifolia/nerifolia
I'm going to have to drop out of the comp with this tree....
These above photos were taken at the end of March, and to be honest I was stuck..
The only style I could think would work was windswept....these photos from April 7th
I just could not "see" how to place the branches, so wimped out and took it to a Tony Bebb workshop... so now that he's helped position the branches, I'm happier with their placement, but I've got to retire this tree from the comp. I appreciate the opportunity to have been able to even take part in it, and it's been a great learning experience for me! Thanks everyone, hopefully it'll continue to give me joy as it grows and develops.

Re: [Mel] Ficus salicifolia/nerifolia
This tree has continued to flummox me, and my constant faffing around with it to no good result had me cutting off a huge chunk yesterday.
I think I'll put it back into a crescent pot too.
